One of the marks of a great photographer is making mundane objects come to life and beautiful object more beautiful. She does both splendidly. Zee’s photographs were published in the following magazines: Easy Living – UK (April 2010), Toffee Magazine (November 2010) and Popular Photography Magazine (March 2004). A River Runs Through It, Bittersweet Beauty

The Young Maclean Family

I remember the first time I saw the movie A River Runs Through It, almost 20 years ago. I’m glad I saw it for the first time on the big movie screen, its outstanding scenery is breathtaking. I have seen the movie at least twenty times since then and is my favorite movie and my my favorite novella. The movie is just like life, beautiful and bittersweet at the same time. Filled with life’s contradictions that we won’t understand until the next life.

The movie is based on the young life of Norman Maclean (University of Chicago Professor and author) and his brother Paul. It’s a familiar story to most of us. Loved ones we want to help so badly are resistant to our efforts. I won’t recount the whole story. The movie has both scenic and spiritual beauty than is rarely seen in film. If you haven’t seen it I hope you will, just bring the tissues.

“Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world’s great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.
I am haunted by waters.”
Norman Maclean (A River Runs Through It and Other Stories)
